Not really Paul. I think they are somewhat in denial and they believe the only way VDSL2 radiates is if there are wiring problems. I think a better statement is that if the wiring is perfect the RFI

Dave, You might be surprised how accurate the following formula is: Toroid effectiveness is proportional to permeability*log(OD/ID)*length This is not an absolute number and it works for both donut a

Rob, Take a look at http://www.w0qe.com/RF_Interference/spectrum_display_rfi_tracking.html I built a setup that works great for tracking via spectrum display. Tom, W0IVJ and I did exactly this with C

Jim and others, I believe the problem has much to do with the cable from the DLSAM to the customer which over the years has been upgraded to be "data" compliant. I think this means more twists per in

Scott, I have a Cotek S300 which I have used to power an HP 8591E SA with no issues at all. Larry, W0QE Would anyone have direct experience powering an AC operated spectrum analyzer from a vehicle? I

BUT, it is not real small and weighs about 10 pounds.  I believe it was originally designed for ambulance service.  It is only 300W but if that is enough it works great. Larry Thanks! Jim ___________

Jim, I respectfully disagree with your comment about 61 material cores not being useful at HF.  For transmitting applications they are quite valuable.  The low Q impedance provided by 31 materials is

Dave, If you wind 2 chokes with one on #31 material (u=1000-1500) and one on ohms the choke wound on the #31 material may need X turns and the one on the #61 material ~3X turns.  The #31 material cho

I also designed some "Tempest" type communications stuff.  The EMI from it was required to be low enough that foreign spooks couldn't detect and decode what was happening. I have no interest in debat

A couple of weeks ago there was a discussion about using #31 material for baluns at HF.  I decided to make some measurements to try and better understand what is going on.  If interested look at: htt

Martin, About the only way to damage a ferrite core is to heat it above the curie point or to crack it by dropping it or contacting it with a hard object.  61 material ferrite has a Curie temperature
