Not yet, knock on wood. I coat my connections with either vasoline (and then wipe it off) or an expensive anti-rust compound before mounting. Has worked for over a year, but I should check it again.

I've successfully used air-wound coil choke "baluns" on 11-meters. Five feet or so of coax wound on a small peanut butter jar (plastic), secured with zip-ties and black electrical tape. Works quite w
