Hello, In next couple days I'm looking to buy Yaesu rotor in US, either G-450A or G-800SA and ship directly into location for fall contest. I will not see the rotor until November. Does anyone here k

I (inadvertently) converted a G1000DXA to 220V. You just need to change out the power transformer (in the control head) with the 220V version. My episode happened when my (110V) transformer failed an

Thanks Hans, I got issue already resolved and there is a way to do this at least for currently sold Yaesu rotor. (Transformer has 220 V posting.) It may be that older rotors did not have that posting

A travel converter? Radio Shack has them, Google for others. I don't know what the current carrying capacity is. The 800SA draws 1A. _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing

My 800SA has no visible provision for switching 110/220, and the schematic does not indicate a dual voltage primary on the power transformer, so I'm afraid you're stuck with some sort of external ste

When I was stationed in Germany in the 60's we used small 220v - 110v transformers for all of our stateside mfg equipment (except tape recorders).. they were everywhere and worked great.. easier than

If you really can't convert it to 220v one option is an inverter. Get a 110VAC inverter and connect it to your 12V power supply. Make sure the inverter and power supply has enough capacity to drive t

If you haven't done so, Marko, may I recommend taking a look at the rotator manuals/schematics. I think you may find that at least one, if not both, rotators are DC and the listed AC inputs are 117 a

I agree with Dale about the Yaesu techs - one named Jerry, whose last name I've forgotten (Barber?), is particularly familiar with rotators. That said, I have looked at the schematic diagram for the

I know from personal experience that the G1000SDX uses a different power transformer for 220V, as do the other models in that series. They all share a common user manual, so I've seen schematics for

Hmmm ... I took the case of my G-800SA, and it does indeed have a tapped primary on the power transformer - now why do you suppose it isn't shown on the schematic? Anyhow, good news - take off 6 case
