I loaded a call history file into N1MM+ for this weekends SS CW. Out of over 500 contacts, just seven were NOT in that file. Five of them had checks from the last century. 73, de Hans, KØHB "Just a b

The one I got from the N1MM site had over 10,000.  I was surprised by how many people weren't in it.  My theory, at least, is that there's a little new blood every year, and a good thing.  Too many c

Pete, Good point about the new ops showing up. It's been 3 or 4 years since I operated SS CW more than just a couple hours. I noticed quite a few CKs from 00-18. Also quite a number of ops coming bac

How many rookie operators are showing up in the CW version of the Rookie Roundup? That might give us a good indication of what the expect in the CW SS in years to come. 73 John W5TD _________________

There is a running assumption in SS discussions that all new contesters somehow end up doing SS. I find that hardly to be the case actually. Many contesters dont like sweepstakes. No offense to those

I worked a number of stations with checks in that range.  Some also had "S" as their precedence, which probably explains it. 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at <http://reversebeaco

The Rookie Roundup is dismal! It is NOTHING like the Novice Roundup of like the 70's Participation levels are soo low, that a pretty good portion of the sections, you can make just one contact and ta

Agreed on all of this. One thing is, the newer cw operators (and there are more than you realize, check out .040-.060 above band edge) are generated by CWops and SKCC. If we want more CW contesters g

The Rookie Roundup just doesn't work! It's nothing like the GLORY DAYS of the NOVICE ROUNDUP back in the late 1970's! I'll never forget that experience... Now folks are trying to forget about the RR
