I would assume that more time was wasted because probably many people wouldn't understand the cut numbers and would ask for repeats. I get the T good enough, but I would have to think about the U one

Is that like when during your run, the station (always weak and slow) comes back to you and sends your call twice and then his call twice (and then others, in their impatience, dump in their call whi

As a novice CW op I would like to know if there are acceptable cut numbers? And if so, what are they? 73, Maarten PD2R _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Conte

At least in the US, the 3 cut numbers most often used are T for 0, N for 9, and A for 1. T and N are commonly used here and understood. A is slightly less used but pretty well understood here also. T

I would never considering using anything other than E for 5 (and only as a part of 599), T for zero, and N for 9 (and again probably only as a part of 599. A for 1 and U for 2 are OK to receive but d

Best story of mine this weekend was that I had two non 5 callsigns, one a 9, send IN which I quickly logged and then they sent TX, so they were "in" Texas. Then I had a slow sending 5 call me a littl
