Rich: The 15-minute per band/mode rule discourages operating on marginal bands, such as 160 and 10M. You are stuck on a band/mode if you make one contact and you may go the next 15 minutes calling CQ

Actually at the W7UQ Field Day, our CW rate was much much higher than our fone rate. We could just never really get anything going on phone, but CW was always there when we wanted. -Chris KL9A ______

We just discussed this on the vhfcontesting reflector last week. The 15 minutes per band change rule does not apply to the VHF bands on Field Day or any other ARRL contest. 73, Zack W9SZ ____________

Where do you NOT beg for FD QSO's on 10??? I have never had much luck on 10 CW from the midwest, even 25 years ago! I did a small 1E from home, & had a TON of CW QSO's, never a shortage. I have done

I spent most of the evening hanging around calling CQ near the bottom of 40 and 80. I noticed two things in general about the QSO's I made. First, I was running about 25wpm most of the time, but it s

Ditto. We try to be competitive in 1A, and the 15 minute rule definitely is a factor in deciding whether to operate certain bands. seldom dropped below 50/hr (the lowest I saw was mid 40s at 5AM Sund
