I've noticed in the last couple of years, there seems to be more and more use of cut numbers in SS. Guys, this is NOT the place to use them. With the mix of numbers and letters, the confusion is much

I agree 110%. Almost as bad as having someone send an R as dit dahdit (instead of TU or CFM or QSL or even a correctly spaced R) in the Stew Perry contest. I begin to copy it as grid square EN and th

I heard a few people use cut numbers and in a couple of cases for me the last digit of their serial number happened to be a cut number. I automatically typed it in as their precedence. My logging pro

True, ... when you are already spending 20 secs on an exchange why worry about saving one and confusing the whole thing... I found that I was being asked for repeats on nr and ck using complete numbe

Sending the call sign as a part of the exchange (at a reasonable speed) is a very good way of advertising to those who have just tuned across your frequency. Much better than having to send a new CQ

Great point, John. When I'd get a little pileup going, I'd just send a "TU" after each QSO and not feel the slightest twinge of guilt. :-) Robert K5PI Sending the call sign as a part of the exchange
