A while back there was some discussion on Contest rigs. The following rigs were considered as contest worthy radios: FT-1000D, FT-1000MP, FT-1000MP MkV, FTdx9000D TS-850S, TS-850SAT, TS-930S, TS-950S

The SDR-1000 does not support QSK. CW seems to be an afterthought with this radio. For SSB it should be fine for contesting. _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list C

Nothing wrong with the Mark V or Mark V Field, they're essentially the much the same rig as the "original" MP. In fact, check the Sherwood Engineering web page and you'll see that the MP and Mark V F

Jeff is correct, Mal. The switches on the front panel of the MKV let you select pre-programmed pairs of cascaded 2nd and 3rd IF filters. If for instance you have the MK V setup with a pair of 2nd and

Also remember that the QST numbers for both the FT1000MP and FT1000MP MKV were at a 20khz spacing, which is really pretty useless for evaluating receiver performance, especially for a contest environ
