- Hi Filipe: On many radios (I'm familiar with FT1000MP's), you have to use a STEREO plug, with the keying on the "TIP" to use the paddle connector to send CW. A mono plug causes what you describe sinc

- That sounds like you are using a mono plug, which short-circuits the stereo jack, resulting in constant transmit. Use a stereo jack, connect only ground and the inner connector and it should work. Co

- I suspect that the problem is that the 706 requires a stero type of connector and the connector for cw keying on the TS 870 is mono. I think that a bit of playing with a stero jack and the key output
