I wonder if someone who correctly copied J6DX's power could pass it on to me. What I heard was 5NNCC but don't know what the CC means. Not just my ears, another op in CA told me via email that's what

Jukka OH6LI, Sorry if my question offended you. I did not present as a means of cheating. With a VERY low score I am in no contention for any kind of reward. I entered mainly to increase my DX count

What you heard was "5NNNN" for 599 99. One guy sent sent "5nnnnn" for 599 99, another sent "5NN 73"--but who measures output power to that precision :-) George W1EBI --Original Message-- From: cq-con

Always, if a QSO is unsure, ask the guy on the to repeat the exchange. If still no QSO, then no QSO in the log. This is simple to me. Contest rules say when the contest ends .. it ended before this e

No offence taken but if this starts to get epidemic so everybody asks the contest exchanges outside the contest, that is not in our target setting for the hobby... The contests are ! 73, Jukka OH6LI

While we're on the subject, the cut number I find the most confusing is the practice of using "J" for a "1". That "J" is one dit away from being a 2....So was the guy trying to tell me 100 watts, or

Cut numbers got so confusing at times that I was scratching my head late in the contest when someone sent me 5W. I kept thinking to myself, what cut number is W? Is it 51? Then I had a Homer moment..

Your're absolutely right, what we should actually do is every time someone sends us a cut number, we should ask for a repeat in actual numbers. after all, with the exception of the n for 599, the res

It is YOUR bust not their's. If you do not copy it correctly then it is on YOU not them. All they have to do is get your call and state right for it to count for them. Cut numbers are just soooo much

In retrospect, I was out of line with my reply to the original email. Yes, the contest was over but not the log deadline. I was guilty myself two years ago in asking a similar type of question and go
