The way one gives his call sign is also important. The most unpleasant contact I had this weekend was with HS0/IK4MRH who was calling cq on 20m giving his call as "Hotel Sierra Zero slash Ay Key Four

Yeah, the Europeans seem to have the "last two syndrome"... I didn't run much last weekend, but when I did several stations called in with "last two" only. (I agree fully with Bill regarding "QRZ?".
