Jack, I have been using Tree's Sprint MP3 files. It is helping with my speed but the format is different. If you find something please let me know. Pat WW9R Go SMC! == _______________________________
Amen to that... I would be interested as well. Pat WW9R Does anyone have a contest calendar that can be imported into outlook's calendar? David Robbins K1TTT e-mail: mailto:k1ttt@arrl.net web: http:/
I agree, Rates or not, unless there is confirmation of an exchange ie exchange of call signs how do you know the other station was talking with you? Timing of the exchange helps, but it is not 100%.
An excellent story, but an even better point was made... I work very hard to help get new ops interested in cw. When they complain that their speed is very slow and that no one will talk with them, I
Yuri, I agree with you. I don't like the whole "real time scoring" thing. I prefer to wait until after the contest to start felling bad about how I did... Pat WW9R the Stew Perry Top Band Challenge (
Zig, I disagree - in today's society it is very important that we are all winners. There can be no losers. Since I can place well in the pack but never win with the current set of rules, I would prop
For WIQP software, visit www.n3fjp.com I use Scott's software for all contests. It is pretty good stuff. If you need the ever elusive Waukesha county, look for me in the WIQP... Pat WW9R Forward from
Hello: I just used my AL-811H in the CQ-WPX CW contest. I set it for 500 out on 20 meters. I ran it for two 12 hour stretches without a problem. I had my keyer setup to call "TST WW9R TST" with only
David, I agree with Eric. There are many of us that will contest with a vertical ( I use two gap verticals) our whole life. The thought of operating at a major contest station is beyond our grasp. Yo
Is it common practice for the contesting community to upload their logs to LOTW? I am always amazed that I can WAS in a week-end contest and still not have WAS via LOTW. I have 17k Q's uploaded and s
Mike, I use Scott's software (N3FJP). It does not use leading zeros and I don't think you can if you wanted to. IMHO they just take up time. What I really don't like is the leading T's, that really c
Eric, I agree. I received many variations like 3T5 for 315- you know the routine, during SS this past week-end. I have to tell you - after listening to code for 14 hrs straight, my brain gets a bit f
Again my point stands - if you mean 315 then send 315 not something else. It just confuses the issue. Or maybe we should make up a whole new group of abbreviations, we could just send e for 599, that
For a reflector that is for contesters, there is way too much arguing going on, especially during a major contest. I joined this group to learn more about contesting not to listen to a bunch of whini
Since you are on the subject of "assisted" or not... What about these partial call data bases? Some of us copy the whole call and ask for a repeat (or two) if needed. Would using a partial call datab
My Motorola V9M razor plays mp3's. They can be tied to contacts in my phonebook. So I used MorseGen to create MP3s for all the regular folks that call me. Instead of a ring tone, my phone plays "CQ d
As a very small time contester, I would also disagree with requiring an audio recording. If there is that much cheating going on, I suggest that the contest organizers require that every station that
We started an amateur radio club at our college this past spring. I offered to have the new club join another club for field day. They asked if they could do it themselves. So if you work N9GTC this
Great, another list of frequencies that I am suppose to stay away from. Between all the nets, and now the SSTV freqs, toss in a DX window or two and whats left? I looked on the freq chart the ARRL pu
If you have some time this week-end, join us in the QCWA QSO Party. You don't have to be a QCWA member to participate. Chapter 162 will put W2MM on the air. We will have stations on SSB, CW, and PSK.
