John, I think most use WriteLog with the MMTTY engine. You have to have MMTTY installed(like you already do) but you don't run it. You just run WriteLog once things are configured correctly. 73, Mike

Is it time to quit beating this dead horse yet? 1. Packet isn't going anywhere. Do you guys really expect the guys that put their hard earned money and work into the packet networks, to shut them off
In that price category, of which I'm in most of the time also, IC-765, TS 850 or FT 990 would all be good choices if the rigs were in good shape, and filters would be a nice touch. A friend found an
This weekend, I probably did a dumb thing by selling my Omni 6. Second thoughts have me wondering what I should replace it with. I did have an 850 before, and I did miss not having the Monitor featur
Sounds like the "key click" police Bill. I had the very same thing happen to me, in the same contest a few years ago. I was running a TS 850 at the time. Now that I have a 1000 MP, I think my answer
Also, the UK stations need to be informed that 7.153 is as low as US stations can go, not 7.150. A voice transmission on LSB on 7.150 will be wide enough to be in our novice band, and you can bet the
Respectfully, I know where you're coming from Hans, but... With all the money invested, I doubt the guys who built the network will just go over and shut it all down forever just because a few guys c
I vote for keeping the last 3 hours. A lot of years, the Ft. Wayne hamfest falls on the same weekend, and I'm "doing my duty" for the local club. I get home and get those 3 hours to operate. Being "f
With a not so great station, I don't get on and "run" very often. So, I always tell the qrm gang to be nice, because if I leave, someone with a real signal will take my place. Doesn't work, but at le
I bought a used MP that was pretty much filtered to the max. As luck would have it, my car dies. After 14 years! They should make those things better! Anyway I hated to see the MP go, but sometimes p
When they first came out with that new analyzer that would work on UHF (plus it had other features over the previous model), our club bought one and it didn't take long before it broke. A phone call,
John, a 746 (non pro, right?) is extremely easy to use with computer control and a contest logging program. You don't have to buy Icom's expesive interface. They can be had for around $40 and work fi
Interesting Bill. I have my shack all apart and was looking at the number on my Field. Those sure are tiny numbers/letter. I have diabetes and my eyes are changing all the time anyway. Mine is: 5J330
I'm not totally against a 746 Pro, but I saw all the reviews on EHam and the biggest complaint was transmitter failures. Did Icom get that fixed? Mike - K9MI _________________________________________
CT out of business? I'm not a CT user, but there is a CT Win that I believe works in XP. I thought I saw something about not supporting voice keyer, but it did mention support now for NAQP and Sprint
SOS, different day, right Mark? It's too bad that such a great hobby is so divided. Not just contesting and non contesters. I can think of a huge list, that amounts to "them against us". Just the nat
Denny, were the stateside stations transmitting below 3750? Or were they working split, transmitting in the US portion of the band and listening on say, 3610? If they were transmitting down that low,
I've never heard of the ARRL having a problem with the use of phonetics. If a station is getting a lot of request for fills for the Section, I see it as a benefit to all concerned. What is it that De
I agree with you Jim. I think 3650, giving the phone portion 100 khz would have been a little more realistic. With it changing to 3600, that is going to force Rtty stations to go probably, as low as
