Can anyone tell me why the SB-1000 does not follow the 80 meter band tuning range? Only band it is significantly off on. When resonance achieved on the 80/75 meter band the tuning knob is way off to

Always need to know... are you into a good 50 ohm load or an antenna ? Have you looked inside to verify that with the knob at 3 and 9 o'clock the capacitor is really min/max ? 73, /Ed k2mp __________

A very quick look at an AL80b schematic shows some padding caps being switched by the band switch. Can't take the time to trace, right now. Did you blow a cap or band switch? -- This message has bee

Van: You obviously have a bad component in the rf deck which affect 75/80 meters. Check for a bad padding capacitor used on those bands. Fern -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AV

Is that tuned into a dummy load or an antenna of unknown impedance? If the latter then its simple to juggle fixed padder values. Im one who pays little attention to low band VSWR under about 5:1 with

5:1? Why even bother running an amp if your SWR is that high. That's a lot of reflected power back into the shack and on your feedline. I know a guy that runs an amp with a huge antenna mismatch and
