I?ve heard that this thing will cover 1.5 - 30 MHz without any resonance, must be due to the nicrome!! Regards SM2EKM --

Gentlemen: I thought the reason National went to R-175A was to avoid a 15 meter resonance in the R-175. I think they are both 1950s vintage, although the R-175 might have been made in the late 1940s.
