- Is it possiable to change out the loud antenna relay in the MLA-2500? This thing just makes way too much noise! Maybe a vacuum relay that would be a simple replacement? Thanks,Don ___________________

- Would it be ok then to just isolate the stock relay from the chassis with silicone? I assume it would still have to be grounded to the chassis in some way though. Don This ___________________________

- Hi Don I have used mirror foam tape in the past with good results. It has adhesive on both sides and comes in a variety of widths. Clean both surfaces with rubbing alcohol first. It's a little neater

- ** A vacuum-relay makes a noticable noise when mounted direct to the chassis due to sound conduction - sort of like the sound-bridge on a violin. - For quieter vacuum-relay mounting see: http://www.s

- ** Yes, but stock relays are too slow for modern radios, because they cause hot-switching. Yes, through a thin Cu ribbon to prevent sound conduction. cheerz, Don ____________________________________
