There was one late edition combined manual that covered the 450 to 550 Tune and NT. Carl KM1H _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contes

As far as I know, there was no individual manual for the ZC. I think the "400/500 Series" manual was intended to cover all the variations in both series. I don't recall exactly what set the ZC apart

Amp International was the last name, Denny was selling into the commercial market. The ZC included the day to day updates to the ZB, and finalized the ALO circuit, QSK, and the step-start and fan spe

Guess I have a real late one: it has the fan speed temperature sensor. The stock fan speed is too slow in low-speed mode, so the fan cycles low-high constantly. And it's like a freight train at high-

If you have 3 3-500s to cool and you operate any serious duty cycle at what the amp is capable of you probably need the high speed and accept the noise problem. hams obsess about fan noise far too mu

I did similar to my 500ZC with simple resistor choices. Since I always use headphones a bit of remaining noise is no bother. Carl KM1H _______________________________________________ Amps mailing lis

At 100W drive the little extra power over 2 tubes is meaningless, pull one, slow the fan down, and enjoy that rugged PAC-5 transformer. Double check filament voltage at the socket and reduce to 5VAC

I use mostly CW, with varying lengths of transmission. But there's a big difference between the modes I use for operating and what I did to test the tube temperature before and after the mod. I trans

I'd say you did an adequate test assuming you got three tubes to show orange anodes for at least 10 minutes. I had thought the reason for the high fan speed (and resulting noise) was that there are t
