Hello everybody, I have a TL-922 amplifier and one of 3-500 tubes died - it is widely open now. Another one is still good and amp produces 400-500W out. Friend of mine gave me a link to youtube video

The conversion of comercial amps to the russian triode is fairly well documented on the net ,there a few extras that need to be addressed like a new bias board and the additition of a 12.6v @5A filam

looking at the video and pictures the only things I see done are: - grid capacitors/chokes removed - voltage stabilizer (?) added Here are closeups from Italian website: http://www.italyamplifier.com

He may not have changed the heatsink. From documentation on the tube: What you describe a "the superior GI46 heatsink" is shown as "variant I." sounds like "variant II" is the more common. 73, ... J

Looking at the specs on the tubes , I think if I were looking at doing the conversion I would go with a single GS31b or a GS35b ( the KISS principle) unless I already had the others, the limiter , as

that's right. The heatsinks are interchangeable but the 46 tube is substantially bigger than the 7. The GI46b is more often sold without the cooler as they seem to be more plentiful like that. They a

I thought the "good" 46 cooler was finned as in the 8877, etc wheras the 7B can be fan cooled horizotally. Neither one looks to be an easy conversion. Carl KM1H ______________________________________
