- It's not a rumor. Elecraft unveiled their solid-state 800-watt all band (160-10) amp at the DX convention in Visalia last weekend. Eric told me that another version of the amp would also be available

- Vic, How many devices and or push pull pairs did they use for the power involved? I do know using FET's you can get by with one push-pull circuit and paralell FET's on both sides. This is a big advan

- I'd be interested in that info, too. It looks like Advanced Power Technology has some 300 volt VDMOS FETs that do 750 watts in modes A-E (ARF1505). A push-pull pair of them would be very close to le

- If it's any help, ARF444/445 (300V,300W each) are about $55ea. in the Farnell catalogue in the UK - you should find them at Newark in the US. Double the power usually costs more than double the price

- I'm sorry, but I don't remember. I also don't remember exactly which devices they are using. I should have paid more attention. I'm pretty sure I saw at least one splitter and combiner, so that would

- Vic, I've seen some designs using 4 FET's on either side of the transformer for a total of 8. Then I've seen similar with two sets oof these together. I'm kinda interested in this as I'm wondering ho
