I seen the new handbook had an amp project using an LDG auto tuner for the tuned input and was curious what the groups thoughts was on this. After some research I came across an add where LDG actuall

It would be a good idea but as I understand that tuner was an L network tuner and not a pi network. Not good for a tuned input as there is no capacitor placed across the cathode with that type tuner.

I tried this in my pair of 3CX800 amplifier. Didn't like it. SWR would not go low enough. I was using a 1ft cable between the output of the tuner and the cathode. If you notice Jerry W8ZR has the tun

I have used the LDG board in my 3CPX5000A7/YC-156A amplifier since 2006 with excellent results:www.k7rdx.w4zt.com. The tuner is an L network so adding c at the cathode is a good idea for better harmo

...seems like too much of a good thing to me! If you consider that most of the amplifiers in use are of the grounded grid variety, with the attendant low input impedance, the Q of the tune network at

I've been watching the mail on this and I'm surprised that no-one has stated the fact that the input impedance of these amplifiers is not constant. Does anyone really believe that the input impedance

Bob: I purchased the LDG AT-100 AMP package and installed it in an amp using a pair of 3-400Z's I will have to say it was expensive, since they had discontinued the original package, but it did a gre
