ICOM support never answered my email but when I called them up they definitely said to use a key line buffer or expect a failure. I do not know that the ARB-704 is any better than the buffer you alre

Charlie, Thanks for the reply. Well I called Icom and they said for the newer ie Ameritron 811H types a relay is not needed to isolate since the relay already has a low enough keyer current. However,

yeah by all specs it is safe to NOT run the isolation but seems like the right thing to do .. I bought the one the has the alc line and relay line built in and plugs directly into the acc socket not
