I think you masde a good decision. Don't get me wrong...I love my Elecraft "stuff" but think when it comes down to it the KPA500 should have been the KPA1K. That's where the solid state competition i

Just got it, and am loving it... Works very well with the K3, and a LOT quieter than the old AL-82 was. Love the autotune, and love the follow the amp does based on the bands selected on the K3... --
