about 20 yrs ago, I bought a Dentron DTR-2000 for $800. I figured I bought the tube (which is what a new one went for then) and got the amp for free. It drives so easily and puts out POWER.... great

The DTR-2000 used a single 8877/3CX1500A7 which is much larger physically than the 8874. I was getting 8877s at the time for $305 (at a discount)and had a number of them (when the DTR2000 first came

Erm, the MLA2500 uses the 8875 not the 8873. Sorry for being a pedant ! I have never seen a Dentron DTR-2000 and am curious to see the circuit diagram. I must admit I do like Dentron amps, even thoug

The DTR2000L is a perfect example of Dentron engineering or more accurately the lack of. No grid current meter, no grid protection, the 8877 cooled by a muffin fan (later ones used a small blower) an

Thanks for the correction. My mind did a transposition there. <:-)) When I woke this afternoon I was wondering if I'd gotten that straight and the first e-mail I saw answered my question. The 8873 wa

Roger, i would not bet 100 %, but as i recalled, Heathkit never made an amp with PAIR of 8873's. Yes they did one model, SB-230 with a single 8873. Regards, Nermin S58DX -- Original Message -- From:

Some where out there is an SB230 with two 8873s. I had one. <:-)) Of course some one could have just added a second tube, but it looked like it belonged there. OTOH I also had a solid state, 101 tran

Are you sure the solid-state "HW-101" wasn't the HW-104? That rig was the "el cheapo" version of the SB-104. The "matching" separate VFO for the SB-104 and HW-104 was the SB-644. The SB-230 definitel

Hi Roger: The Heathkit SB-230 used a single 8873 not a pair of them but Henry Radio had a 2K Ultra that used a pair of 8873. Fern -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG - www.avg.
