2ea 3cx800s only draw 3 amps. I use a small (12.6V 3A)  radio shack transformer and simply added more turns to the secondary for my 2X 3cx800 amp. Still working after 20 years. Thanks 73 Jim W7RY Loo

I have a Radio Shack 18 volt, 4 amp transformer that I have been using with a dropping resistor for a pair of 3CX800's. It makes me nervous, because if a filament opens on one tube, the filament volt

Thanks Jim. did same. Ordered #16 enameled coated wire for extra windings, which came in yesterday. 13.55Vac now with two tubes! The #16 was TIGHT FIT! Did take a few photos along the way for others
