- since no replies so far on another post, I will ask a more simple question, has anyone used a 3 phase transformer on 240 volt single phase in a power supply to power a hf amp?. will it or could it wo

- I have a 3 phase plate transformer I want to use on single phase. It has 3 separate sections and the secondaries can be separated. Can I just parallel them up ? I realize core limitations will pl

- If you parallel all the windings, the magnetic fields all have the same polarity and block each other. It's as if you cut the loop formed by the laminations. I think what you want to do is to apply p

- Take care with core saturation as the cross section of the center leg is equal to those of the outer legs in a three phase xfmr which is not the case with a single phase xfmr where the center leg are

- Build a phase converter like we do to run 3 phase motors off single phase. Yes, you lose some efficiency getting there, but it makes the implementation a whole lot easier. 73 Roger (K8RI) ___________
