The 4X500A is an external anode tube, so the cooling won't be right, it needs a different socket, and it's a tetrode. You'd need to do soem careful calculation to determine if the grid and screen dis

As far as I remember you can not run 4X500&acute;s in zero bias GG, you will not be able to get correct ZSAC for linera operation. 4X500&acute;s need screen and grid voltages to get correct operating

The big problem will be arranging the cooling. My RCA book says the maximum seal temperature is 150 deg C, and they don't look from the drawing easy to arrange cooling around it. I have little doubt

HSU -- My choice would be to sell the 4X500As and purchase one Chinese 3-500ZG. If your 3-500Z died from a filament to grid short, your TL-922 may have intermittently oscillated c. 120MHz. The fix is

You only need one tube because the Mu of an Eimac tube and the Mu of a Chinese tube is similar. Also, if the tube manufacturer has tight tolerances and good quality control, there is no need to match
