Rich and Plil have had an interesting discussion on torroid types, Here is a follow up question. If the type 61 starts to saturate at 10 MHz and is good to 30 MHZ at QRPP levels, what types are good

That is a 4:1 un un transformer to step 200 ohms down to 50 ohms. The harmonic attenuation is the same as a Pi network, but this method is much cheaper to produce than either a Pi or a Pi L tank cir

levels?.... Type 43 is ok up to 50MHz. You can stack 2.4" cores for more power handling ability. Check for core saturation by checking UHF TV channels. Ordinary #12 TFE hookup wire is good. Tape cor

case If it's a transmission line transformer, it has to be a very high mismatch to screw things up badly. Of course, it isn't a balun, so the balance requirements don't exist, possibly easing matters

With 200-ohms unbalanced in and 50-ohms unbalanced out, it has to be a transmission line transformer. later, Peter - Rich..., 805.386.3734, www.vcnet.com/measures. -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesti

be >a transmission line transformer. No, it doesn't. It could be done as a conventional transformer with a 2:1 winding ratio. Not that I'd advise it.............not for power anyway, although for rec
