- Leon, Haven't you considered building? You don't have to be Marconi, and it is possible to get a 1Kw amp down to 10 cents a watt - making the electricity bill a bigger factor than amp cost! 73 Peter

- Leon, unless you have a roll of money under the mattress a used amp may be the better route for starters. Here is a short list, by no means complete: Collins 30L1 uses 4 811A's for 600W out. Covers 8
