I know this sounds kind of stupid but a friend of mine had the same problem you are describing. He had inadvertently hooked the input and output coax connections on the back the wrong way. This nearl

Hello Group. Short question: I have an AL-82 that has started to blow a fuse on start-up. It doesn't do it every time, and when the fuse is replaced the unit starts OK and runs all day w/o problems.

The way to address this issue that all AL-82, 1500 and 1200's have is to remove the step-start relay that comes in the unit from the factory and build a real step-start. I have to do this on a weekly

Since Ameritron is now offering their AL-1200 with a 3CX1200Z7 I believe I would consider this tube over the 1500. I have built amps with both tubes and the Z7 has it all over the 1500. The Z is easi

I have never quite understood the premise of painting the inside of an RF deck ANY color. The black paint part comes from the fact that heat generators that generate heat from the inside will radiate

Not to try to be argumentative but this only proves the bare minimum of cooling that exists under the tube deck. If you doubt this, turn the fan off and see how long the solder lasts in any of the pi
