My sb220 cooked one of the diodes on the pc board a couple of days ago. I replaced the faulty one with a 1kv piv 2.5 amp substitute that was in my junk box. Resoldered the wires back to the pc board,

Colin-- Thanks for the info re the chokes. I assume the caps should also be left out. My major direction at this point is to address the airflow problem that the modifier caused in shielding the tube

Actually, the point that I'm trying to make is that new technology should be new technology. I don't object to the amplifier having a serial port. I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a USB port. Or
