Maybe it's a combination of the dainty 4W grid and the small physical size. It's not a very big tube. Those numbers came straight from the data sheet so I'll bet they contain some institutional "fudg

I don't see anything the datasheets for both tubes that mentions maximum exhaust heat. The maximum ceramic/metal seal and anode core temp is 250 degrees C for the 8877, same for the 4CX1000A. On 8/28

W6PQL has built a 1KW SSPA for 1.8 though 54MHz using a single BLF188XR's. They are dual transistor parts. He suggests that two such LDMOS parts throttled back to 750W per along with his splitter/com

W6PQL has built a 1KW 160-6m amp using the same FET's. He has directional couplers in front of the LPF to protect against stupid ham syndrome and one behind to provide SWR and power out readings for

W6PQL found when designing his HF SS amp that the LDMOS he was using would hit the 1dB compression point at about 11100W. If SPE is getting 1300W from one dual core device they are over driving it or

All of the LDMOS devices that I have seen are the twin cores in One "device" or package. The LDMOS packages I'm aware of have a max dissipation rating of 1200-1250W. The amp may have passed FCC harmo

It uses 8 tried and true MRF150 MOSFETS in a push/pull parallel design. It's really just a pair of ALS-600's combined in one box. The new version the ALS-1306 covers 160-6m is rated at 1200W peak on

He's also the founder and developer of the AN Wireless line of self supporting towers. Nobody can argue the quality of those towers, period. This is a start up and we should probably cut them some sl
