What would cause the filament not to get hot if there is continuity between the pins when 5 volts is applied? The tube has been sitting for seven or eight years. Bob   Measure the filament current.

I have a working but leaking oil filled capacitor, HEC 21052 CC602 6UF 8Kv DC used in my Henry 8K Ultra (3 Phase 230V). The oil comes out at on the top of the canister under one of the HV connectors.

2uF seems awfully small. From the calculations I did (200hz, 200mH inductance) it seems there will ve 300V of ripple at max current of 1A (10%!). Isn't that too much and how could the military trans

But now the question becomes, how do I check how far from resonance am I (other than by measuring ripple)? I've obtained the capacitor they most likely used originally. And the choke is original too

The trick is to make the input to the problem relays to require POWER to activate them.  Feed a high current to those channels and drop the input resistor divider down to the hundreds of s.   Ron
