- Model engineering shops? Those that deal in parts for gas engined miniture racing cars? For real light duty (next to no torque) some heavy gauge plastic tube (coax outer sheath?) pushed over the ends

- Gettering is a chemical process, the only "Thermal" thing about it, is that the "Getter" is fired/activated by heating, to create the active area that absorbs impurities etc, with glass envelope tube
