I have one 8877 that runs 4200 or so in cut-off and another that runs around 4100. If the tube is in good condition and has some recent hours on it I wouldn't worry about it. If not sure, send it off

Probably extruded HDPE, if it has a greasy, flexible feel to it. Not stable in sunlight. Cast is better, but still not UV stable. Cast acrylic is not quite *as* cheap, but machines well, is UV stable

Perhaps a bad attitude, but I for one appreciate lower drive requirements for high(er) duty-cycle modes. (RTTY, SSTV, AM ...) Let's not give that up for fear of overdrive damage - a front-panel mode
