I take three steps against monitor noise:
* put plenty of ferrite beads on cables
* shielded both monitor cables
* dis-assembly the monitor and spraying inside the plastic enclosure
with an acrylic/copper-based coating paint EKS XC-210-C or
Acheson SP-010 Copper/Silver. Both paints attenuate the RF signals
at least 40dB.
About the modem-generated noise, I used shielded input/output cables
on a 15' lenght.
Anyway, all my computer input/output cables have plenty of ferrite beads
at both ends.
Now my station is totally computer noise free.
