[Yaesu] FT-102 filters

I found a SSB filter from Yaesu for 33.00. I have not ordered it yet,
because I'm not sure what to expect. Exactly what would this filter
do for me, would the rig sound better??--cleaner?? or something
else. what is the main purpose of filters??, ans if they are so good
why doesn't the manufacturers include them??--to expensive?? or something
