The Yaesu band data connector supplies a binary coded decimal output.
The schematic in the owners manual shows the A, B, C, and D pin numbers.
The output levels are standard 5 volt cmos. Just decode the binary word
with a 4028 cmos chip and combine the outputs with diodes for the
desired band outputs (ie, I combined the 40M and 30M outputs for the
Hercules II amplifier, also 15M and 17M, etc.). In the case of the Herc,
I needed 12V outputs so I used an LM324 to convert the 5V signals to 12V
and then ran the 4028 at 12V (out of the band data jack itself).
