Hi Guys,
A few years back, I use to get a 'RTTYRITE MFC Application Error has
occurred', only when I CLOSED WriteLog. At the time I believe the problem
was because of two .dll files with the same name, one in the program
directory and another in a Windows system directory, possibly the second
.dll put there by another program. The fix was just to delete one of the
.dll's and as I said, I believe that fixed the problem at the time, it may
also have been dumb luck. Unfortunately I did not document the fix and now
the error has come back to haunt me on a new(er) computer hardware upgrade
and new WL installation.
Basically a typical error window is spawned with "RTTYRITE MFC Application
has encountered a problem and needs to close."
Some error details as follows:
AppName rttyrite9.exe
AppVer: 10.0.70.11
ModName ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512
There is no loss of data, my logs are good and the software had been running
like a champ, until I close WriteLog. One further observation, if I start WL
and use it for a short time, no problem with shutting down, only if I leave
this computer on for extended periods of time, as in overnight. I think this
error only happens when running an RTTY contest as I don't remember seeing
it with CW contests. Also, if I run two occurances of the RTTYRITE window,
I get the error message twice. So far I have not found a way to consistently
duplicate the problem nor have I found any extra .dll's or anything out of
the ordinary to cause this error.
I've been shifting through the archives and have not found a positive fix,
though a few fellows have also reported the same type of error.
System as follows: Windows XP Pro c/w all updates - current version of
WriteLog - MMTTY with plug-in option - microHAM interface.
Ideas anyone?
