One other April Fools joke was in QST a few years ago...
I don't remember the specificds, but a company had just designed and built a
new HF "dream" antenna. Small, lightweight, multiband, broadbanded and
inexpesnive; in other words, everything a ham could want. They were getting
pretty good signal reports in ordinary rag chews, but the real test would be
how it performed in a contest. They proclaimed their new antenna design a
rousing success because everyone in the contest gave them a 599 report!
