Gang,
This mornings test on my off-line computer makes me think that it is the
mmtty plug-in that is being broken by the new xmmt code and bring down
rttyrite. After I installed xmmt.ocx and followed Don's setup, I was
able to get mmtty running fine. And I could change to sound board AFSK
(for some reason the stereo positions are grayed out (probably the
default setting on the sound card?) and back to xmmt mmtty just fine.
But as soon as I try to use the plug-in option, rttyrite freezes.
When I uninstall the plug in and get rid of it in the writelog.ini
things again work.
Now to try this idea on the contest computer.

Gang,
I have spent all day installing and uninstalling Writelog in all the
ways I can think of. The bottom line is that deleting the rttyrite
sections in writelog.ini does not cure the problem. It only allows me to
get a mmtty-plugin open. The next time I touch the TU Type menu,
rttyrite freezes once again.
This result has occurred on BOTH my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machines. I no
longer have an XP machine to try.
I agree with Joe's comment about something breaking in the "plug-in" I
did reinstall it each time after updating with the same feeling.
I have a gut feeling the problem is I have not done any thing with the
xmmt.ocx. I got an error message at one point after some magic key
strokes (meaning I don't have any idea how I got into that logic) that
wanted to remove the ocx because it was "only partially installed".
Again as soon as a mmtty-plugin window has been opened, the next access
to rttyrite to change to another tnc or sound card freezes rttyrite. But
this only happens on the TU type menu.
Tomorrow I want to install the ocx, I already have mmtty 1.68 and see if
that makes any difference. I just printed off Don's pages to get ready.
The good part is that I have learned how to recover my OS partition
fairly quickly - did it many times today, hi

It appears that WriteLog 11.10G breaks something in the old MMTTY
plug-in. I suggest uninstalling the plug-in from the Control Panel
then starting WriteLog 11.10G, then selecting one of the Sound Board
options. After that you have two choices - you can install XMMT.ocx
and use MMTTY that way or you can close WriteLog 11.10G and reinstall
the old plug-in.
The old plug-in works if installed and configured *after* an upgrade
to 11.10G (as long as 11.10G is not reinstalled). I do recommend
rebooting after uninstalling the old plug-in to make sure any locked
files are released.
For anyone who has not already upgraded - set RTTYrite to one of
the sound board choices temporarily and uninstall the old MMTTY
plug-in before upgrading it will save you some headache.

Ed, et al
From the mail I think several of us are having the same problem with
11.10.
The basic problem is rttyrite freezes up when its tnc menu is touched.
I am just trying to get mmtty plug-in to work the same as it has for me
in 11.08.
This morning, I uninstalled 11.08 again (after making a backup) because
it went in the wrong directory yesterday.
I then installed 11.10 in c:\HamPrograms\Writelog\
I deleted the [rttyrite] and [rttyrite2] sections from the writelog.ini
in ...virtualStore... and saved it.
I then started writelog and opened a rttyrite window. Then selected
mmtty. Had to point to the proper directory (I did not reinstall mmtty).
The rtty control panel for mmtty opened.
But as soon as I try to go to TNC Setup to adjust the mmtty appearance,
rttyrite freezes!
When I also go to the Stereo Soundboard AFSK option, rttyrite freezes
(that was the original problem I had).
And somewhere along the line I had to reinstall the mmtty plugin because
I was getting errors messages about "failed to create custom ... tnc
header"
Also I have been unable to save the size and location of the rttyrite
window using the Save Configuration option.
I deleted the writelog.ini in ...virtualStore... to let writelog build a
new one. But that did not solve the problem.
So basically I can not get back to the configuration of mmtty that I had
with 11.08.
Any ideas???? Meanwhile I have regressed back to writelog 11.08
Someone commented re: cleaning the registry values. Is that necessary?

Has anyone else had a problem with 11.10 and changing TNCs?
Tried 11.10 yesterday (to try the new K3 rig driver), Windows
7, and the regular rttyrite/mmtty plugin windows I always
use. When I try to change the TNC from mmtty to Stereo Sound
Board AFSK to use the cw receiver, mmtty dies and I get a
rttyrite MFC error. Have to use the Task Manager to get back
to Writelog to start over.
Had to uninstall 11.10 and go back to 11.08 so mmtty plugin
would work.
What did I miss? I see all the chatter re 2Tone but nothing
that indicates that mmtty plug-in might not work??? I was
using the same writelog.ini file that I used with 11.08.
