I experienced a problem setting up the DVK on a windows 98 computer with
a Sound Blaster SB16 sound card. This was, as you would expect, a user problem, but I hope to save someone else the time by posting the answer. The problem: After transferring all of my freshly recorded WAV files to the win98 box, I figured I was almost there..... The error After setting the DVK options under Setup/Ports and then going to Tools/Sound Board Options.....that's where I blew it! Under "Tools/Sound Board options" I set "Enable Recording Loop" and "Echo Microphone". ("Aha!" I hear you thinking....) Yup. I did NOT select "Pause recording loop during SSB wave xmit". The solution: To get the WAV file to play properly on this Win98 shack computer, all I had to do was set "Pause recording loop during SSB wave xmit" to on. Ahhh, sweet music! "CQ contest W4KAZ" Thanks to Eric, K6EP, whose previous post on this subject finally got me back in business. Now...where's that silly interface box? 73, W4KAZ some possible keywords for the next guy archive mining...... win98, DVK, SSB audio, no sound, ssb messages, sound board options, WAV files, _______________________________________________ WriteLog mailing list WriteLog@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/writelog WriteLog on the web: http://www.writelog.com/ |
