I have plans on documenting this feature on rttycontesting.com but just haven't
had the time. Until I do, I just wanted all the RTTY users to know that there
is a new command under the File menu in the Rttyrite window starting with
10.45M.

It's called "Clone (Receive Only)" and what it does is open a new Rttyrite
window. The new Rttyrite window is not really a clone to the main Rttyrite
window per se, but it is tied to the main Rttyrite window's Entry Window but is
used as a "receive only" window.

What's really cool about it is that you can click on a highlight callsign in
this "cloned" Rttyrite window and it will go into the main Rttyrite Screen's
Entry Window. This means you no longer have to open up a "2nd radio" to have
dual receive on one radio.

Also this "cloned" Rttyrite window can be tied to any TU Type that WriteLog
supports. For instance, I am using MMTTY as my TU Type in the main Rttyrite
window. I then create a "clone" Rttyrite window using a DXP-38 from the same
radio's receive audio.

And it appears you can have as many cloned Rttyrite windows as you do TU's.

And what's really super cool, if you run Windows XP, you can actually open
several "cloned" MMTTY windows at the same time, one for each profile!!! At
first I thought I would have to run the MMTTY engine from 2 locations on my hard
drive (and this works too), but I accidentally opened a cloned Rttyrite window
using the same MMTTY engine as the main Rttyrite window and it worked!!!

Don't ask me why.

You cannot transmit from the "cloned" windows. They are "receive only" at this
point in time.

If you could transmit from these "cloned" windows from the same Entry Window as
the main Rttyrite window, now that would be so cool I wouldn't be able to stand
it.

Another hint for SO2R ops using one Win XP PC - by placing the MMTTY engine in a
2nd location on your hard drive, you can run SO2R, both radios running MMTTY,
with one sound card. Now if that doesn't take the cake, I don't know what does.

Unfortunately for the rest of you RTTY ops, this gives me the platform I need to
go back to SO3R. I didn't like SO3R the few times I used it because I didn't
have a PC with enough resources, but I think I could force myself to go back to
it. Just have to figure out how to grow a 3rd ear!!!

I won't be able to run my SO3R setup in this weekend's FMRE International RTTY
contest because there are only single radio and two radio categories!!!
