I spent the first evening of the EME contest on 1296. I was using the IC9700 exciter and had trouble trying to run CW. I heard a few guys on CW but could not get the keyer to work.  (Borrowed radio)   At 4 AM I had no luck with the CW. That is when I went to bed!

I will be on 222 MHz this evening early on looking for non EME stations using the rising Moon. I will be on HB9Q Chat on the 220 MHz page.  I will be QRV at my Moon rise.  I also plan to get on 222 MHz on the last Moon pass in November as that is a gathering plan for all of the 222 EME ops.

The 1296 station here is the NC1I portable EME system with a 2.4 meter dish and about 700 watts. It works pretty well, but gets covered up by many callers on 1296. I tried S&P but found that I was never being heard as stronger signals covered me up.  I wish there was activity on 222 that equaled 1296!

CU thiis evening on 222!

I will be dabbling in the ARRL EME contest tonight and tomorrow.
     I am
mainly looking for new states/grids/DX countries.  I will be QRV
    on 144,
222, & 432 beginning about an hour after my moonrise as I clear
    the trees to
my east.    My plan is to operate until my forehead bounces off
    the desk in
front of me. Then I will catch some sleep so I can get up at
    0'dark-thirty
when the moon is the western sky.

If you are west of the Mississippi I most likely need you in my
    log.   I
will be monitoring the N0UK (https://www.emechat.com/) and both
    222 & 432
    HB9Q pages (https://logger.hb9q.ch/).
