During contest activity our club station works 250-350 q's and 80-90 grids
and our 2m station works 220-330 q's and 60-70 grids, 432 120-180 q's and
40-60 grids. We rarely find 6m dead for a very long period (of course we
have operators working 30 out of 33 hours of the "test").
I agree 6m and 2m is the better choice with 432 then 222.
my 2 cents

Yeah, but when 6 is open you will be talking to yourself with just 2 and 432
since everyone will be on 6. I wouldn't even consider operating in a VHF
contest without some 6 meter capability. I vote 6, 2 and 432 as the
minimum. Add 222 if you can.

I would go with 144 and 432. 144 has always been the "meat and potatoes"
band for me, with 432 a close second. I don't make too many random QSO's on
222 and in some contests 50 MHz is completely dead and my portable beam
isn't large enough to overcome that.
Good luck!
