Alan: My experience was a little better here in EM79. I made 6 Q's in the 4 hours. It was unfortunate that the recent fantastic band openings we experienced on 2 meters and above did not extend to last night. My best Q was W4NW down in GA (EM96) about 400 miles away. N4SVC in FL (EM80) could hear me, but I was unable to copy his grid square after 20 minutes of effort. I have yet to make the leap to digital, but figure it's something new to try after 40+ years of ham radio, so it's on my bucket list.
