Calculate a length of RG-174 or RG-58 based on it's rated loss at 144 Mhz.
Install BNC connectors and coil it up. Makes a cheap power attenuator.
Verify the loss by measuring power output at the other end into 50 Ohm load.
Have done this for many a transverter and for reduced drive into high gain
amplifiers for repeater service.

I need to attenuate a 12W output (144MHz) down to 2W to drive a 903MHz
transverter. The radio's ALC circuit does not appear to be working so I am
trying to find out if there is a something I can buy or build to attenuate
the signal. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions?
