Good Thursday afternoon all:
For those who enjoy bringing older/no longer in production amplifiers
(specifically solid state) back to life, seller dnutt has a quantity of these
ITT relays available for $3.50 each in lots of 10. I have found that some of
the old school Lunar Electronics amps made use of them as the main TX relay in
the larger models. In my case, I have one of the rare 2M10-200P models with one
of these that is bad.
As a young ham in the early 80's, I recall when LE was in business out on the
west coast, and at the time it seemed that their stuff was a bit better quality
than others like Mirage, Heathkit, etc. They offered quite a range of 220 mhz
models when that band was a bit more popular.
In the last few years, the ham community has lost Hygain, Cushcraft, Ameritron
under the MFJ umbrella, along with TE Systems it appears.
>From what I can tell, no one offers smaller or moderate amps for the 220 band
>at present that are linear for SSB. Places like Beko and others across the
pond make good stuff that runs 500 watts and up, but none of these are what I'd
call inexpensive.
I have zero interest or connection to seller dnutt. Just passing along the info
in case someone might be looking for said relay.
