Within a day of putting it on the air, I found out I had a bad connector
up at the antenna and took the beacon off the air. Today I finally got
the time and good wx to repair the antenna.
The beacon is back on the air transmitting on 144.295 with the following
message, 5 seconds of carrier followed by "V V V DE K8MM/B EN83FA FLINT
MI". I can increase the carrier transmission to 20 seconds in length if
I get the feed back asking me to do so.
Power at the antenna was measured at 12W. The antenna is a homebrew
squalo made from 1/2 copper pipe and mounted at 95'. It is being fed
with 1/2 CATV hardline.
Give a listen and let me know if you can hear it.
73,
Ian - K8MM
