Hello to everyone on the list....Robert's point is well taken. As much
as I am disgusted by what has happened, my disgust does not fall to the
level of participating and then turning in a NO Contacts log just to
harm the Antis.
What I said publicly is that I will not participate this year, as there
is no class for me now.
Today, I received an email from Sean where he did give me a straight
answer to my question. He will NOT count Protest Logs as "logs
received". Based on his "Final Answer", I will change my QRZ bio and my
web site postings.
To everyone that is upsed by the destruction of the Assisted Classes, if
you have not written your letter of protest, PLEASE do so right away.
THIS IS IMPORTANT.....FIND THE TIME TO DO THIS. The Antis put on a
loud, vocerifous, and well coordinated campaign to convince the VUAC
that removing Assistance was "the will of the EME community". A friend
of mine on the VUAC was somewhat amazed to find out later that this was
not the case. If we do not all send in letters, the VUAC will just say,
"Well, this is all Marshall causing all this fuss" AND they will ignore
our efforts.
If you know anyone else in your area that is upset over the deletion of
the Assisted classes, contact them on the side and tell them how
important it is that these letters start going in. Send your letter to
Sean (skutzo@arrl.org) and request that the send it to the entire VUAC.
Please copy me when you do that.....Thank you very much.....
ASIDE: I have put my three most important posts on my web
site....www.k5qe.com. I feel certain that you read them in the past,
but I put them there for those that need the background information.
Please feel free to pass that along to anyone who is interested.
Thank you for your help....
