The Arrl said it in qst that 98% of the qsos made were self qsoing in cross
the line qsos within the team.

Imagine using this type of activity as justification of keeping 70 cm to the
FCC. Is the Arrl supposed to go in there and lobby that they want to keep 432
MHz or any other band so some guys can shoot signals to each other across
maiden head grid lines? Though not this team I have seen this done with 900
MHz
walkie talkies with people standing by their cars 100 feet apart with a grid
line between them. So would the FCC see that as a useful use of spectrum when
some industry wants the spectrum for some other reason? At least when you are
further away than perhaps a smoke signal could be sent there might be some
justification in keeping band. 432 is threatened as well as 222 so I hope that
those who threaten the band don't see this.

We use volcanos as reflectors here to make long haul qsos, that is somewhat
scientific. The Morning fog tropo is scientific. Eme, meteor scatter
scientific all good for justification. Short Qsos used just to build points
across
lines where an FRS radio could make the QSO is not scientific is not
justification for spectrum.

If a team of 4 would have split up and started per say In DM82, DM83, DM84,
Dm85 and all traveled west they would have activated more grids, gave more qsos
to strangers and made much more racket on the bands.

When we learn to push the envelope of distance, expirimentation and inovation
in our activity then we are justifying our bands. The team is innovative,
don't get me wrong.

The more I debate this I hope that they can have their own class when it is
done.
